Nantes Camping is committed to sustainable development and protection of the environment, and its management is designed to minimize the impact of its activity on the environment.

Here are some concrete examples of actions carried out:

Limiting our energy consumption

  • 50% of the electricity we buy comes from renewable energy sources.
  • All of our accommodation and public areas are fitted with low-energy bulbs.
  • All of our buildings were constructed in compliance with BBC (low-energy building) standards. Energy efficiency and performance are thus guaranteed.
  • All of our rental accommodation features automatics lights-out when guests leave their accommodation.
  • Electrical equipment in our accommodation and installations is classified A or A+ for energy efficiency. 

Limiting our water consumption 

  • Both campsite sanitary blocks and accommodation are equipped with water savers as well as with precise controls for both flow rate and temperature. The showers are fitted with timers.
  • Rainwater from roofs is collected in a 20m3 tank to be used for watering plants.
  • Our team is trained to detect and repair leaks rapidly.
  • We have provided individual meters in each unit so as to keep close track of water and electricity consumption. 

Limiting our production of waste and ensuring it is disposed of in a way that is respectful of the  environment

  • All of our departments sort their waste.
  • Both sorting bags and an area dedicated to selective sorting for recycling are available to both staff and guests.
  • Hazardous waste is sorted and then stored separately before being collected by specialist recycling companies. 

Encouraging the use of renewable resources and less hazardous substances

  • We’ve chosen to prefer natural materials for our installations (wood, etc.).
  • Our detergents are ecologically certified.
  • Upkeep of outdoor areas is achieved without pesticides, insofar as possible.
  • Use of products intended to repel harmful animals and insects is kept to a minimum. 

Making sure your stay is enjoyable whilst limiting our impact on the environment

  • We offer you on-the-spot bicycle hire.
  • Our guests are informed on the spot about options for the use of public transport.
  • We encourage the use of email communication.
