What is the origin of the name?
It all starts in 1905 within the commune of St Michel Chef Chef, when the pastry cook, Joseph Grellier, develops his famous golden biscuits. At this point the St Michel galette is born! Owing to his wife’s business talents, the “small cake” (biscuit) is quickly distributed throughout the whole of France with rapid success.
